3D Printing Service Terms
1. Our service
We print 3D models you upload, on our own printers, and deliver them within Singapore.
2. Your file and your promise
You must have the right to use and print every file you upload, and must not upload anything that breaks the rules in the Terms of Use. We do not check ownership for you. If someone claims your file infringes their rights, we may stop the order, and you will deal with the claim. We do not review files for design strength or fitness for purpose.
3. Prices
The price you see once your model has been sliced is worked out from the material, size, settings and time our slicing software reports, and it is the price you pay unless we find a problem with the file when we examine it. If we do, and the price has to change, we will tell you before we print. You may accept the new price, or cancel for a full refund.
4. Checks and what we can refuse
We run automatic checks on each model and may also check by hand. We may refuse or ask you to change a model that:
- is too large for our printers;
- has faults that stop it printing well, such as open surfaces, thin walls or unsupported parts;
- is a weapon or weapon part, or otherwise unlawful or unsafe (see the Terms of Use);
- infringes someone else's rights.
Where we print a model that the checks flagged, at your request, we do not guarantee how it turns out.
Singapore law controls weapons, including those made by 3D printing. Making a weapon without a licence is an offence under the Arms and Explosives Act, and helping someone to make one can also be an offence. Under the Guns, Explosive and Weapons Control Act, possessing digital design files for guns or major gun parts without authorisation is also an offence. We will not print, and will refuse, any model that is or could be a weapon or part of one. We may keep the file and give it to the authorities where the law requires or permits it.
5. Materials, colours and settings
You choose the material, colour, layer height and other options offered at checkout. Colours on screen and in the preview are indicative only. Layer lines and support marks are normal in 3D printing. Multi-colour prints add material waste, which is priced in the quote. If your file carries its own print settings, those settings may be used and may change the result.
6. Orientation and supports
How a model is turned and supported changes its strength, surface and cost. If you choose an orientation, supports or support style, you accept the result. If you do not choose, we use our defaults. Supports are on by default and you can turn them off in the options.
7. No guarantee, and how you use the part
We are a print service only. We print the file you send. We do not design, review or test it, and we give no guarantee of the safety, strength, reliability, durability or fitness for any purpose of the file, the material or the printed part, or that it will fit or work as you expect.
You are responsible for how you use a printed part, and for the material and options you choose. Do not rely on a printed part for anything where failure could cause injury or serious loss, such as load-bearing, medical, food-contact, electrical-safety or child-safety uses. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss, damage or injury from the use of a part after we print it.
Where possible, if we think you may endanger yourself or others with the part or the material, we will try to contact you and leave the decision to you. We will ask for your consent in writing before we go ahead, which can be a reply by message or email. We cannot check every file for every risk, and our not contacting you is not our approval.
8. Your files, designs and special orders
You provide the file, and it is your responsibility that it is correct, appropriate and matches what you want made. This applies to every model, drawing and special request you send us, including a part designed to fit something else. If a file or drawing has conflicting or mismatched information, we print what it says, and we are not liable for errors that come from it.
If a part has to fit an existing or standard part, such as a shaft, bearing, gear, sprocket or timing pulley, it is your responsibility to give us that part, or the measurements, for the fit. We are not liable if the part is printed with errors because you could not or did not give them to us.
A special order is one that does not follow the options offered at checkout, such as one made to your own drawings, a part meant to fit another, or one that needs a person to price it. The ordering steps for a special order can differ from a normal one. Everything else in these terms applies to it, as far as it fits the nature of the order.
If a part has to be replaced or repaired because of your file, drawing or choices, you pay the replacement or repair fee, which we set separately for that job.
Designs we prepare with you are prepared to the best of our ability. It is your responsibility to review and approve a design before we release it for printing.
9. Delivery
We deliver within Singapore only. The delivery options, charges and estimated times are shown in the quote and at checkout, and apply to your order. Risk passes to you when the order is delivered to the address you gave. Check your address: we are not responsible for a delivery to an address you got wrong.
10. Packing and fragile items
- Packing: ALT TAB will do what we can to pack items with reasonable care.
- What is fragile: fragile items are those with thin or very weak structures. For fragile items, we strongly recommend that you collect them yourself from the studio.
- Any item can be damaged: delivery can damage any item.
- Your ticks at checkout: everyone who chooses delivery sees a warning about fragile items and must tick a box accepting that a fragile item broken during delivery may not be claimable, and that for other damage in delivery, liability and the value of a claim follow the courier's standard liability terms. Everyone must also tick a box accepting these terms, the Terms of Use, the Cancellation and Refund Policy and the Privacy Policy before paying. Collecting from the studio needs no delivery tick.
- Courier claims: we use the courier's default liability programme, which caps the compensation, so what you can recover may be less than what you paid. If an item is damaged in delivery and the courier's terms allow a claim, we will make the claim with the courier for you, and what you can recover is what the courier's terms pay.
- If we think an item is fragile: we will also warn you before we ship it and ask for your consent in writing, which can be a reply by message or email. By accepting, you accept that risk, and a fragile item that is spoiled or broken in delivery may not be claimable and may not be covered by a refund, repair or replacement.
- If we do not warn you: that is not a promise that the item will survive delivery.
11. No warranty
We give no warranty on printed items. We do not promise that an item will be free of defects or suitable for any purpose. To the extent the law allows, we do not owe you a repair or replacement for a defect. If we agree to repair or reprint an item, you pay the repair or replacement fee that we set separately for that job. A defect may not be repairable or replaceable because of the nature, material or specifications of the item.
12. Events beyond our control
If a delivery is delayed or cannot be made because of a natural disaster (including earthquakes, floods and fires), a change in or end of a law or rule, action by a public authority, transport problems, a labour dispute, or any other event beyond our control, we will tell you within a reasonable time given the event. We are not liable for any damage or expense you incur because of that delay or failure to deliver.
13. Storage of your files
We keep your uploaded file and its measurements until you ask us to delete them, so we can reprint, quote again or settle a problem. Ask us by email.
14. Cancellations, faults and refunds
See the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
